The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to support an established NHS surgical service within the West Midlands. This locum opportunity offers a consistent Monday to Friday job plan within a busy Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department, providing reliable weekday work within a well-supported NHS environment. It is particularly well suited to Consultants experienced in both Local Anaesthetic (LA) and General Anaesthetic (GA) surgical lists who are looking for ongoing locum work within an established surgical service. You will be working alongside experienced surgical, anaesthetic and multidisciplinary teams, supporting operative activity and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care across Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery pathways.

- Duration: Current approved requirement until 14 September 2026, with potential for extension.
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
- Pay: £105.00 per hour
- Pay Method: PAYE
- Additional Notes: Job plan includes both Local Anaesthetic and General Anaesthetic lists, together with one dedicated administration day per week
- Deliver Consultant-level Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery care within an NHS acute hospital setting
- Undertake both Local Anaesthetic and General Anaesthetic surgical lists
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients across Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery pathways
- Work collaboratively with surgical, anaesthetic and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
- Contribute to safe, effective and patient-centred surgical service delivery
- Participate in administrative and clinical governance activities as required
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, or eligibility for Consultant-level practice
- Relevant recent UK Consultant experience within Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Experience managing both LA and GA surgical lists
- Strong clinical judgement, communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively within established multidisciplinary teams
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
