Job Description
Support Secretary Women's Health - Gynaecology and Gynae Oncology University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Secretary to join our gynaecology team at UHD.

The post holder must be IT literate and ideally familiar with hospital computer systems including eCamis, EPR, and Soliton. Audio Typing skills are essential.

Required qualities include: efficient, a capable communicator, have audio typing experience, be a team player, organised, have the ability to prioritise own workload, maintain discretion and be able to work in a busy environment.

Base - Royal Bournemouth Hospital

Interview Date - TBC

Main duties of the job

To produce letters from clinics through the provision of audio typing, general departmental administration and word processing.

Gynae-Oncology admin

Coordination of results and booking of urgent patients

To cover consultant's PA desks in their absences

To answer patient's queries via phone and email

Person Specification Qualifications
  • RSA II/III or equivalent
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Good knowledge of IT systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience
  • Secretarial experience
  • Audio Typing experience
  • Working in a healthcare organisation
Technical skills
  • Excellent audio typing and word processing skills
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills both written and verbal
