Job Overview

Supply Teacher - Tradewind Recruitment is looking for flexible secondary school teaching practitioners available from as little as one day a week up to full-time. This is a temporary position based in Pocklington and surrounding areas.

Position Details

Payment for daily supply teacher bookings ranges from £140 to £180 per day, depending on experience, qualifications and distance travelled. Long term contracts will be paid in line with the main teaching pay scale, from M1 to UPS 3, equating to an annual salary of £32,916 to £51,042, or a daily rate of £168.80 to £261.78 (subject to change with September 2026 pay reviews).

Roles may cover lessons outside your specialism or solely within your subject area, depending on the school's requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Teach daily lessons while maintaining student behaviour and progress.
  • Report safeguarding concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.
  • Contribute to the day to day operations of the school.
  • Maintain consistency by working regularly in the same school or set of schools.
  • Participate in CPD provided by The National College, on the same courses as permanent staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within UK schools.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure, overseas police clearance if applicable, and professional references.
  • Complete CV covering full employment history.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
