Job Description
Build the Supply Chain Function From the Ground Up - With Finance in Your Remit Too Supply Chain & Finance Manager

Imagine owning both sides of a growing food manufacturer's operation - the warehouse, the planning, the purchasing, and the numbers behind them - and having nine months to turn it from spreadsheets into a scalable system.

This growth stage food manufacturing business is moving from manual, spreadsheet driven operations to a structured, scalable supply chain function, and needs someone who can bridge operations and finance to lead that change. You'll join a small, tight knit team where how you work with people matters as much as your technical skill - this is a hands on role for someone who has worked inside a growing business before and understands the pressures that come with scaling up.

What You'll Achieve (and Why It Matters)
  • Own warehouse management, planning, purchasing and production control end to end.
  • Lead two direct reports covering stock control and finance system reporting.
  • Build a new supply chain system that interfaces with SAP, moving planning and inventory management from manual, Excel based processes to an automated workflow within nine months.
  • Introduce barcode scanning for batch traceability and establish structured warehouse operations, replacing manual, paper based methods.
  • Deliver accurate, batch coded stock management with full traceability from raw materials to finished goods.
  • Own monthly financial reporting, cost control and margin analysis alongside day to day supply chain operations.
  • Handle routine finance operations in SAP - invoice processing and bank reconciliations - while adding value through insightful reporting on procurement costs and inventory margins.
  • Take on manual finance tasks currently spread across the team, integrating finance closely with operational planning and purchasing.

Within nine months, you'll have an integrated, batch coded stock system live - replacing manual, reactive processes with an automated, scalable workflow - and a finance function fully integrated with operational planning, supporting the business's growth from start up stage to a more organised scale up.

Your Edge
  • A qualified accountant - ACCA or Chartered - with hands on, practical experience.
  • Around 70% supply chain and 30% finance experience, ideally from a factory or operations finance background.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG, with a solid understanding of both the supply chain and financial sides of the business.
  • Prior experience in a growing business, and a real understanding of the operational challenges that come with scaling up.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work closely with a small team, not just manage a large function from a distance.

All applications are treated in the strictest confidence.
