Great Ormond Street Hospital Supply Chain department is looking for a Supply Chain Senior Team Leader to work in an established team delivering efficient and effective Materials Management services to theatres, wards and intensive care areas.

Main duties of the job

What does a great Senior Team Leader do?

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of materials management and supply chain management, from receipting of goods to ensuring supply continuity within a hospital environment.
  • Show an understanding of technologies used for the management of inventory.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to talk productively with all levels of staff.
  • React positively under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Manage staff on a day-to-day basis, including sickness and annual leave, and work out rotas to ensure service coverage.
  • Show effective problem solving skills to ensure the supply chain works for the benefit of the Trust in terms of supply and financial management.
  • Have sound product knowledge and know when to elevate problems before they become critical.
  • Be flexible as this is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week on rotational shifts which can be interchangeable to cover service requirements.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supply Chain Management.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
  • MCIPS or equivalent business qualification at postgraduate level.
Experience / Knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience of supervising a team.
  • Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Email.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Awareness of Public Sector Legislation.
  • Knowledge of ward inventory control.
  • Experience of manual handling best practice.
  • Experience in purchasing processes and supply chain management.
