Job Description
Job Title: Supply Chain Planner

The Skills You'll Need: Sales Planning, Forecasting, Advanced Excel, Demand/Supply Planning

Your New Salary: £38-40k plus 5% bonus

Location: Luton, hybrid working 3 days in office, 2 days at home

Status: Permanent

Start: ASAP

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week

Supply Chain Planner - What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Using available system tools, monitor 'your portfolio of wines' ensuring replenishment commitments are in place to cover short and medium-term demand requirements.
  2. Ensure the following are considered during the review cycle: stock levels, expected stock, forecast/actual demand, target service levels, lead times, supplier reserves, and seasonal policies.
  3. Consolidate individual customer requirements for non-listed lines and provide high-level forecasting information directly to suppliers.
  4. Liaise with suppliers to arrange time-sensitive direct deliveries for prestigious accounts.
  5. Review and appraise the agreed forecast against short-term trends and ensure deviations are recovered and communicated to the Demand Planner.
  6. Review inventory levels against the stock plan to maintain target stockholding objectives and KPIs set by the Supply Chain Manager.
  7. Review and monitor product availability service levels to ensure the portfolio operates within agreed targets.
  8. Manage order review cycles, frequency, consolidation, and size (including EOQ - Economic Order Quantity / MOQ - Minimum Order Quantity) to meet target objectives such as availability, overall stockholding, shipping costs.
  9. Liaise with sales teams and Demand Planner to guide potential new business or customer listing requests.
  10. Work closely with the sales team to ensure specific customer requirements are planned and delivered alongside 'business as usual' activities (new customers, direct deliveries, specific events).
  11. Collaborate with the Demand Planner and Supply Chain Manager to manage short-term supply issues through allocations for priority customers.
  12. Incorporate confirmed new listings into short-term replenishment activities and share ongoing demand changes with the Demand Planner.
  13. Prepare seasonal 'stock build' plans to mitigate peak trading periods and producer closures, sharing these with 3PL partners for capacity planning.
  14. Continuously review expected arrivals versus planned to support early communication of constraints or shortages to the business and customers.
  15. Work with sales teams, brand management, and the Demand Planner to assist with tender responses and provide advice on specific wines.
  16. Consider the environmental impact and challenge current methods for more sustainable approaches.
Supply Chain Planner - The Skills You Need to Succeed:
  • Experience in demand and supply planning environment.
  • Experience using ERP and replenishment modeling software.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Good knowledge of replenishment/forecast planning processes within the food/drinks industry.
  • Attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Time management, self-starter, capable of working without supervision, and decision-making skills.
  • Team player who actively contributes to team operations and development.
  • Analytical approach and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for the product.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
