Supply Chain Coordinator

Location: Newport (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

We are looking for a proactive and organised Supply Chain Coordinator to join a busy operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in purchasing, supply chain, stock control, or logistics who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting purchasing and inventory activities, ensuring stock availability, managing customer demand transactions, and maintaining efficient supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor inventory levels, customer demand, and supplier lead times to identify potential stock shortages.
  • Process customer demand transactions and maintain accurate system records.
  • Coordinate stock cycle counts with warehouse personnel.
  • Raise purchase orders for indirect materials and accessories.
  • Liaise with suppliers to progress orders and monitor supplier performance.
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding material availability and supply issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and stock control data within the business ERP system.
  • Reconcile stock discrepancies and investigate variances.
  • Manage rejected components and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Support internal and supplier quality activities, including corrective action reporting where required.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider Supply Chain team as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience in a Purchasing, Supply Chain, Stock Control, Logistics, or similar administrative role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience using SAP or another ERP/MRP system would be an advantage.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
