Supply Chain & Manufacturing Technology Manager

Location: Dublin or Kilkenny (Hybrid)

Type: Permanent

Salary: €90,000 - €100,000 + Benefits

Overview

Reporting to the Head of IT, the Supply Chain & Manufacturing Technology Manager will lead the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for enterprise applications across Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and Compliance.

This role will be responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy for critical business platforms, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives while driving innovation, standardisation, operational excellence and governance across the application landscape.

The successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders to optimise and transform key business processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Manufacturing Execution, Quality Management, Inventory Management and Supply Chain Planning. This role will play a key part in delivering scalable, secure and future-ready technology solutions that support business growth and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the technology roadmap for applications supporting Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Compliance.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for digital transformation, automation and process optimisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Ensure technology investments are aligned with organisational priorities and deliver measurable business value.

Application Ownership & Governance

  • Lead the life cycle management of enterprise applications supporting manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Ensure robust governance, documentation, change management and release management processes are in place.
  • Establish and maintain application standards, policies and best practices across the organisation.
  • Manage relationships with strategic technology partners, vendors and system integrators.

Business Process & Technology Leadership

  • Support and optimise key end-to-end business processes including:
    • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
    • Order-to-Cash (O2C)
    • Production Planning
    • Manufacturing Execution
    • Warehouse & Inventory Management
    • Quality Management
    • Supply Chain Planning & Logistics
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and technology-enabled efficiencies.
  • Drive standardisation and harmonisation of processes and systems across business functions.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of analysts and application specialists.
  • Act as the primary liaison between IT and Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality functions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote best practices, standardisation and reuse across application platforms.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, AI and digital technologies to improve operational performance.
  • Support the organisation's broader digital transformation initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure robust support, maintenance and enhancement processes are in place across all business-critical applications.
  • Monitor application performance, service delivery metrics and user adoption.
  • Drive continuous improvements to system stability, reliability and user experience.
  • Ensure appropriate support models and service management processes are maintained.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all platforms comply with internal policies, GDPR and relevant industry regulations.
  • Support compliance with quality and manufacturing standards including ISO, GMP and HACCP where applicable.
  • Proactively manage operational and technology risks through governance, vendor oversight and incident management planning.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery requirements are maintained.

Project Delivery

  • Support the planning, prioritisation and delivery of strategic technology initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget and timelines.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on solution design, architecture and system integrations.
  • Work closely with project teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar leadership role managing enterprise applications within a manufacturing, industrial, FMCG or agri-food environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, operations and supply chain business processes.
  • Proven experience supporting end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) business processes.
  • Experience working with enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, MES, LIMS and related manufacturing and supply chain technologies.
  • Strong understanding of system integrations across ERP, manufacturing, quality and supply chain environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party vendors and strategic partners.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to delivery and problem solving.
  • Experience delivering application roadmaps, governance frameworks and digital transformation initiatives.

Desirable

  • Experience within the agri-food, food manufacturing, life sciences or cooperative sector.
  • SAP certifications or other relevant enterprise application certifications.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and quality frameworks including ISO, GMP and HACCP.
  • Experience leading large-scale ERP, manufacturing systems or digital transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of data governance, GDPR and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with data analytics, reporting and Business Intelligence platforms.
