Supply Chain - New Material Introduction & Qualification Specialist

Our client is a multinational pharmaceutical company with a strong presence in Ireland. They are currently looking for a Supply Chain - New Material Introduction & Qualification Specialist to support their operations at their site in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.

The New Material Introduction & Qualification Specialist will be responsible for the evaluation, qualification, and lifecycle management of materials used within a regulated manufacturing environment. The role ensures that both new and existing materials meet required regulatory, quality, and safety standards through structured testing, supplier assessments, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position plays a key role in enabling a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply of materials, supporting product quality and patient safety across the site.

Responsibilities
  • Manage change control activities and support resolution of issues arising from supplier change notifications
  • Lead end-to-end new material introduction activities, including technical assessment and supplier qualification
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute material qualification activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety standards, and product requirements
  • Develop and review technical documentation required for material approval and release
  • Ensure timely introduction of materials to support production schedules while maintaining compliance, safety, and quality standards
  • Act as the main point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders including procurement, R&D, engineering, quality, regulatory, and operations teams
  • Oversee the material introduction and qualification process, ensuring alignment with internal procedures and regulatory expectations, and supporting audit readiness
  • Maintain and update approved and qualified materials databases and related records
  • Lead investigations into material-related issues and drive corrective and preventive actions
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives within the material qualification process
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent value delivery to the site
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve efficiency, compliance, and process performance
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Technical Operations, or New Product Introduction within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with SAP systems, particularly in master data and production-related modules
  • Good understanding of single-use systems and relevant regulatory requirements for material qualification
  • Experience working with suppliers on material-related issues, including investigations and supply chain communications
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively
  • Strong communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork capabilities
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on priorities and delivery
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes constructively
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical and regulatory knowledge
