Mechanical Supervisor (Plumbing)

Location: HMP Swaleside

Salary: £46,775.42

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, 39hrs

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at HMP Swaleside, a CATEGORY B & Male prison. Join a team that is more than just a group of colleagues - we work MONDAY TO SUNDAY as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment.

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading experienced and passionate colleagues from various trades (Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators, etc.) to maintain a safe and secure environment. You will help ensure the smooth and safe operation of the prison's facilities, working closely with other maintenance teams to meet operational objectives.

Qualifications
  • EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
  • City & Guilds 6009/Q - Mechanical Engineering Services: Plumbing (Domestic)
  • BPEC Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating
  • City & Guilds 6189 - Plumbing and Domestic Heating
  • City & Guilds 6032 - Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing
  • City & Guilds 5962 - Certificate in Plumbing (Advanced Craft)
  • City & Guilds 6019 - Mechanical Engineering Services (Plumbing)
  • City & Guilds - Heating and Ventilating Craftsperson (Industrial & Commercial)
  • ETA Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
  • City & Guilds 6188 - Heating and Ventilating
  • City & Guilds 6088 - Certificate in Heating and Ventilating
  • City & Guilds 6018 - Heating and Ventilation Installation
  • City & Guilds 214 - Engineering Systems Maintenance
  • A minimum of five years' experience, ideally within an FM environment and/or secure environment, military, health or similar sectors.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water or building service systems.
  • Familiar with, and ability to, work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
  • A rounded knowledge of risk and compliance and demonstrable planning & project management skills.
