About us Downland Practice is a thriving rural GP practice covering 140 square miles of the Berkshire Downs. Our main site, with an attached Hybrid Pharmacy, is located just 5 minutes from the A34/M4 Chieveley junction in a spacious, purpose-built surgery and pharmacy. We also have a branch surgery 15 minutes away in the picturesque village of Compton, featuring a newly refurbished dispensary, consulting rooms, and office space.

Our practice dispenses to over 80% of our 11,500 patients, issuing around 14,000 items per month, with a further 2,800 items per month dispensed to non-dispensing patients and those from further afield who choose our service. OTC and P-line products are available at our main site in Chieveley.

Covering such a large rural area, it is vital that we continue to provide accessible medication services - there is no other pharmacy within 140 square miles. As a Hybrid Pharmacy, we offer comprehensive care to our patients, including blood pressure monitoring and New Medicine Services (NMS) at our main site, with the possibility to extend these services to our branch surgery.

We maintain excellent relationships with local care facilities and schools, supplying acute medications, OTC products, and P-lines. Our pharmacy also delivers Pharmacy First, Hypertension, and Contraception services, with strong uptake from both our patients and the wider community. We are excited to be launching a Travel Service and expanding our private pharmacy offerings.
