The OpportunityWe are seeking an engaging, proactive Student Recruitment Officer (Outreach for Degree Apprenticeships) to join our outreach and schools engagement activity during this permanent role. You will play a vital role in ensuring that potential applicants receive high quality information, advice, and guidance about Degree Apprenticeships, higher education and the opportunities available at Manchester Met.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the relationship between the Degree Apprenticeship Unit and the Student Recruitment Post 16 Outreach Team attending meetings and reporting as appropriate.
- Lead on information advice and guidance for degree apprenticeships for school leavers for the University.
- Plan, organise, and deliver an annual degree apprenticeship programme of activities in key feeder schools and colleges both online and in person.
- Deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and events tailored to a range of audiences including students, teachers, parents and carers.
- Represent the University at education fairs, HE events, and recruitment focused activities across the UK.
- Support on campus recruitment activity, including Degree Apprenticeship Open Evenings, Degree Apprenticeship development sessions, open days, clearing, and group visits.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to reports, and support key communications.
You will bring:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging a wide range of audiences.
- Strong organisational skills, able to independently plan, prioritise, and manage a busy schedule of outreach activity.
- Experience of working independently for extended periods, taking initiative and managing your own workload effectively.
- Experience of project planning, communications planning, and report writing.
- Sound knowledge of the university application process, 14-19 qualifications, degree apprenticeships, and student finance.
- Experienced working in student recruitment, outreach, or a related educational engagement environment.
- This role includes national and reginal travel and frequent evening work.
- Is it an advantage to be able to drive and have access to a car.
