The Student Casework Investigator role is a sessional, variable hours position that may be taken alongside existing part time or fractional employment. Applications from existing part time staff are welcomed.
We are seeking experienced Student Casework Investigators to join our Student Casework Team within the Academic Registry. The role ensures that student casework is investigated fairly, thoroughly and sensitively, maintaining the integrity of the University's policies while protecting the rights and wellbeing of all parties involved. Through professional and trauma informed investigations, the role helps create a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment where students can focus on their studies and personal development with confidence in the University's commitment to addressing misconduct and resolving disputes effectively.
The successful candidate will have significant experience conducting complex and sensitive complaint/disciplinary investigations in higher education or another industry, including interviewing and gathering evidence using trauma informed approaches. They will possess excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed, accurate reports and formal documentation. A strong understanding of procedural fairness, natural justice and information governance is essential, alongside proven experience in interpreting and applying regulations and policies within a complex organisational setting.
Working arrangementsThe role is primarily remote, with any required on campus attendance agreed in advance. Investigators must have access to an internet enabled device and a reliable internet connection.
Time commitment- This is a non guaranteed, variable hours arrangement
- There are no fixed weekly hours
- Work is offered on an investigation by investigation basis and may be uneven across the academic year
- Provide a calendar of availability in advance
- Decline any work they cannot reasonably complete
- Undertake investigations alongside other roles and commitments
