The structured finance group (SFG) is part of our market-leading capital markets practice.SFG is a unique group which combines skill sets from securitisation, capital markets, banking, derivatives, and insolvency practices to be able to deliver for our clients on some of the most innovative, complex, and high-profile transactions in the UK and Europe. This is not a commoditised securitisation practice; it is a cutting-edge finance group offering an unrivalled opportunity for outstanding lawyers to build their CV with the transactions that make the front page of the newspapers.Recent examples include advising Thames Water on its £20bn balance-sheet re-structuring and strategic transformation; advising Cerberus on the acquisition from Intrum and subsequent financing of over 10,000 loan portfolios across 13 European jurisdictions (one of the largest non-performing exposure acquisitions and financings of all time); and advising Ferovinum on the first ever asset-backed securitisation of wine and spirits inventory and receivables.We are seeking outstanding lawyers from finance or corporate backgrounds who have the talent, flexibility and passion to join this cutting-edge practice and to structure and deliver more firsts for our clients. The London SFG team is made up of 10 partners, 4 counsel and c.50 associates and trainees. The team is consistently ranked Band 1 by Chambers and Legal500. About you You will be practising as a qualified solicitor in the finance team of a leading firm with at least 6 months' experience. Ideally, you will have experience in securitisation and asset-based finance, but we are happy to consider individuals who qualified into a broad finance role keen to focus this work. With strong organisational skills, you will be capable of working on multiple matters. You will have the ability to communicate assertively when under pressure. There is a strong emphasis on team-work and you will be expected to work well with others, whilst capable of working independently on matters or aspects thereof in a supportive environment. Your roleYou will be based in, and support, our London structured finance practice, and be part of the firm's capital markets team, gaining exposure to transactions with clients across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.You will receive support and supervision on your work from the partners, as well as training on all aspects of financing developments from our dedicated knowledge team.This is an excellent opportunity to do cutting-edge and innovative work within a market leading practice.
