EPS Group are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to work full time with our Design team, supporting the delivery of Water & Wastewater projects across Ireland and the UK. The role will be based at our head office in Mallow, Co. Cork. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of experience in Design of Structural Steelwork.
Key Responsibilities- Design of Steel Structures and produce Structural Design Calculation reports for Access Platforms/pipe racks/ tanks etc.
- Liaise with the Design and Manufacturing team to meet offsite modular construction methodology in Design approach.
- Ensure Design compliance with project specifications and area wise codes
- Assist Drawing Office in preparation of GA models and Fabrication models.
- Analyse and critique structural designs from other source.
- Support Project costing where required by carrying out preliminary design and providing Steel Section quantities.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings, ensuring actions are closed out.
- Support specific projects ensuring timescales and budget requirements are achieved.
- Liaising with clients and other functional workplace departments to ensure intent is met and drawing approval is achieved as efficiently as possible.
- Relay information about the status of the project with the senior design team and the project managers.
- Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are taken into consideration throughout the design process.
- Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Design of Structural Steelwork.
- Ability to carry out Structural Calculations independently.
- Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Robot Structural Analysis (or similar design software) and IDEAStatica.
- Working knowledge of BIM, Revit and Navisworks.
- Understanding of Steel Fabrication systems.
- Knowledge of Water & Wastewater treatment sector would be an advantage.
