The Role

As our Stress Engineer you will be responsible for supporting CAE activities by carrying out all phases of assigned CAE projects. You will be involved in finite element modelling, results review, hand calculations and report preparation covering both structural and occupant safety performance of Mirus products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be highly CAE focused, using both Optistruct and RADIOSS in order to provide exceptional engineering solutions.
  • Work closely with all areas of the business in order to ensure integration of CAE with both physical testing and the wider project team.
  • Partner with the Engineering Team, Lead Engineers, and the Certification Team, helping to ensure that our products meet the regulatory guidelines and requirements. Meeting the customer brief in accordance with the programme delivery, in terms of structural integrity (strength and impact resistance), stiffness, cost and weight.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific field and experience working as a Stress Engineer
  • Ability to perform static hand calculations
  • Competence of physical test protocols associated with stress, structural and occupant injury
  • Must be capable of producing high-quality FE models and reports under minimal supervision
  • A track record of applying CAE tools to provide design direction
