Streetcare Driver Operative

Key Details:

• Pay rate: £13.45 per hour (PAYE)
• Location: Reading, RG2
• Contract duration: 6-month contract (until end of the year)
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week
• Flexible Start times: 05:30 / 07:30 / 11:00 / 12:00
• Working Mode: On-site role

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out street cleansing and environmental duties
• Operate a range of powered machinery and mechanical sweepers
• Perform basic maintenance and checks on equipment
• Work to set schedules to meet service standards
• Follow all health & safety procedures at all times
• Wear provided PPE and uniform
• Maintain cleanliness across public highways and spaces
• Engage positively with members of the public
• Report hazards, damage, or incidents

Requirements:

• Full, valid driving licence
• Experience in manual or outdoor work preferred
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role
• Comfortable using machinery (or willing to learn)
• Good awareness of health & safety
• Reliable with a strong team ethic

• Must provide own safety shoes
• Full uniform and PPE provided
• Flexibility required to cover different shift start times
