AtkinsRéalis, Balfour Beatty and Egis Road Operations UK are part of a consortium, creating Connect Plus Services, a unique partnership with a collective strength in highways asset care from finance, through to design, build, maintenance as well as day to day operation.

As part of our 30-year remit to manage and improve the capital's orbital motorway network, we deliver major improvement projects, such as widening 38 miles of the M25, refurbishing tunnels and bridges, and installing hundreds of variable messaging signs and gantries, helping to maximise the use of the network and deliver more reliable journeys.

Connect Plus services are seeking to appoint a Street Lighting Engineer to join our team on the M25 DBFO project. This position involves undertaking design projects, managing timelines and external consultants, and ensuring effective communication among team members, the supply chain and internal and external stakeholders.

Your Purpose:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing design projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Undertaking lighting designs using Lighting Reality design or similar software.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, including project briefs, timelines, and works information. Ensure all files are organized and accessible.
  • Management of external consultants undertaking designs.
  • Review design outputs for accuracy and consistency, ensuring they align with project goals, the DMRB and relevant standards.
  • Collect and organize feedback from the supply chain, client, and internal teams, ensuring it is communicated effectively.
  • Stay updated on the DMRB and Change in Standards and best practices, sharing insights with the team to achieve solutions.

What you can bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Electrical or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a Highway Lighting projects
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the DMRB, MCHW and British and European regulations and standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Passion for design and a desire to contribute to a creative team.
  • Be a member of a professional body.
  • Be professionally qualified or working towards professional qualification.

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
