Job Description

Join Fanvue as the most senior Individual Contributor to lead the evolution of a platform serving 17 million monthly users. Following a $22M Series A, you will architect the transition from a PostgreSQL monolith to an event driven microservices architecture while building core AI infrastructure such as vector stores and LLM orchestration tools.

Why this role is remarkable
  • Immediate impact at scale on a platform that recently surpassed $100M+ ARR and was named a Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2025.
  • Rare opportunity to define a company's technical foundation by building AI native infrastructure and platform primitives from the ground up.
  • World class engineering culture that offers a dedicated IC career track, valuing deep technical excellence over management progression.
What you will do
  • Lead the monolith to services decomposition using patterns like Strangler Fig to support tens of millions of monthly active users.
  • Architect and scale AI infrastructure including vector databases, embedding pipelines, and LLM orchestration for automated creator tools.
  • Design and implement database optimisation strategies for high throughput workloads on PostgreSQL and transition toward event driven systems.
The ideal candidate
  • 10+ years of hands on experience building and shipping distributed systems at high growth consumer platforms such as Monzo, Revolut, or Deliveroo.
  • Expert level proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Go, and AWS, with a proven track record of scaling databases for millions of users.
  • Forward thinking engineer fluent with AI assisted development tools like Cursor and enthusiastic about mentoring teams through technical leadership.
