Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust lead level 3 NICU for Surrey and part of the Surrey, Sussex and Kent Network, providing expert care for 28 of the sickest and most complex babies using the most up to date ventilatory support techniques such as Vapotherm in the delivery room, Cooling Therapy and Nitric Oxide. Job responsibilities- To be able to work throughout the Unit caring for high dependency and special care babies depending on qualification and experience.
- To be able to work unsupervised in the Transitional Care Unit/SCU
- To take charge of an allocated group of babies or a nursery underthe supervision of the nurse in charge.
- To work effectively and efficiently with the integratedmultidisciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluateprogrammes of care.
- To contribute towards developing and maintaining a suitable andstimulating learning environment for students and for the ongoingdevelopment of registered and unregistered staff.
- Following appropriate training contribute to an allocated area ofresponsibility which may include breastfeeding, infection controldesignated link nurse or any other area identified by Matron orTeam Leader.
- This is a post that follows a shift pattern that rotates onto night ,dayand weekend shifts

Qualifications- RSCN/RNCB or registered Adult Nurse/Midwife
- Special, High dependency and Intensive Care of the newborn
- Working in an acute hospital setting
- Care of the newborn
- Ability to apply evidence to clinical practice
- Change managment
- Able to communicate effectively
