Job Description
Staff Nurse, Day Surgery

Band 5 Staff Nurse, 24 hours per week, Day case Unit, Fixed term for 6 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Day Case Unit to recruit highly motivated Band 5 staff nurses to join our dedicated team in order to provide a safe and efficient service to surgical patients.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.

As a unit we operate using 20 beds and are open seven days a week, currently working 12 hour day shifts (07.30-20.00) with future plans to finish at 22.00hrs due to the advances in day case surgeries and patient care.

Main duties
  • Flexible, enthusiastic and reliable, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Admit patients and plan discharge for a small group of patients each shift.
  • Access, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs as part of a nurse led multi disciplinary team.

Experience

  • Ability to work as a team member, without close supervision.
