The Staff Nurse will assist in leading a team of healthcare workers, student nurses, preceptorship nurses, and TNAs to deliver specialist assessment and treatment services for adults with intellectual disabilities. The role requires knowledge of multidisciplinary working, risk management, and associated mental health care needs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead within a named nurse group, supporting carers and families
- Assist Unit Manager and Deputy Team Leaders in delivering high-quality care
- Conduct assessments, formulate care plans, implement and evaluate patient needs
- Monitor quality and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
- Maintain records and documentation in line with Trust policies and NMC regulations
- Provide clinical supervision and appraisals to team members
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Registered Nurse qualification: RNLD (Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities) or RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse)
- Experience working with patients with intellectual disabilities
- Awareness of current issues and legislation affecting detained and non-detained patients
- Ability to work a 24-hour shift pattern (days, nights, weekends)
- Experience in leadership within healthcare teams
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions for complex needs
- £31,049 - £37,796 annual salary
