About the Role

As a Staff Manufacturing Engineer - Biomaterials, you'll play a key role in supporting, sustaining and improving manufacturing processes across our Biomaterials product lines.

This is a hands on technical role where you'll work closely with Operations, Quality, Validation and Maintenance to ensure our processes remain safe, reliable, compliant and capable of consistently delivering high-quality products.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of manufacturing processes, lead technical problem-solving and deliver improvements that have a measurable impact on the operation.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical leadership across Biomaterials manufacturing processes and value streams.

• Own and improve manufacturing processes within the value streams, ensuring quality, stability and compliance.

• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to resolve product and process issues.

• Deliver continuous improvement and cost reduction projects focused on OEE, yield and scrap reduction, using Lean, Six Sigma and data driven techniques.

• Provide hands on technical and operational support to manufacturing.

• Take ownership of key cell metrics, including Manufacturing Loss and Right First Time.

• Drive structured problem solving and ongoing process improvement.

• Support process validation, equipment, raw material and consumable assessments.

• Lead or support strategic engineering projects and process development initiatives.

• Work cross functionally to troubleshoot and implement improvements.

• Train and mentor operators, technicians, Co Op students and engineers, providing technical guidance and support.

• Provide leadership and technical direction to other Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians as required.

Qualifications Knowledge Skills

• Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a relevant discipline.

• 4+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant industry.

• Strong analytical, problem solving and continuous improvement skills.

• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, influence others and make effective decisions.

• Strong communication and influencing skills across technical and non technical teams.

• Experience working in a fast paced, regulated manufacturing environment.

• A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

• Experience with powder/liquid blending, chemical synthesis or Biomaterials would be advantageous.

• Lean/Six Sigma, automation or project management experience would also be beneficial.

Ireland Pay Ranges:

• Ireland: €54,000 - €90,000 EUR Annual
