Job Description

Peamount Healthcare is an independent voluntary organisation that operates in partnership with the HSE Health Region, Dublin and Midlands to provide a range of health and social care services. Peamount Healthcare is a registered charity and is directly funded by the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004. The hospital provides consultant led, multidisciplinary, specialist rehabilitation services to patients at the right time and in the right place, which improve patient outcomes.

Applications are invited from both experienced professionals and newly graduated Occupational Therapists that are awaiting CORU registration who demonstrate a strong commitment to patient-centred care and professional development.

  • Job Title & Grade - Occupational Therapist (Staff Grade)
  • Tenure - The current vacancy available is a temporary specified purpose post on a full-time basis.
  • Panel - A panel may be created from which permanent and specified purpose contract vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled.
  • Hours of Work - 35 Hours - the allocation of these hours will be at the discretion of the Department Head and in accordance with needs of service
  • Department - Occupational Therapy
  • Location of Post- Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin
  • Working Model - Fully Onsite
  • Remuneration - Current salary scale with effect from 1st June 2026: €45,514 (point 1) to €65,068 (point 14).
  • Annual Leave - As per Health Service Executive (HSE)
  • Closing Date - July 15th 2026

PURPOSE OF THE POST

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality person-centred Occupational Therapy service to a designated clinical area(s) and will carry out clinical, educational and administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Occupational Therapist/Occupational Therapy Manager.

POINT ON SALARY SCALE

New appointees coming from the private sector will be placed on the minimum point of the scale (exceptions may apply for the below grades, provided proof of recognised service is submitted by VOS).

Clinical and Therapy Grades and Staff Nurses: Incremental credit may be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011) in the Civil Service, local authorities, public service, health service and other public service bodies and statutory agencies.
