SSRO Global Service Contracts & Programmes Manager
Location: Hemel Hempstead (travel required max of once per week)
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + bonus up to 20%
We are looking for an experienced Global Service Contracts & Programmes Manager to lead the delivery of long-term service agreements and major repair, maintenance and overhaul (MRO) programmes for customers worldwide.
This role is responsible for ensuring that customers who purchase complex equipment receive high-quality, compliant, and commercially successful ongoing support through structured service contracts. You will manage large-scale service programmes end-to-end, acting as the main customer interface while coordinating internal teams across engineering, service, finance, legal and supply chain.
SSRO & Defence Compliance
This position manages defence-related service contracts and includes a critical compliance element. The successful candidate must bring strong, demonstrable experience with UK Ministry of Defence contracts governed by SSRO regulations.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all contracts and service programmes comply with SSRO requirements, including cost transparency, allowable costs, reporting and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage global service contracts covering repairs, maintenance, spares, upgrades and overhaul activities
- Lead major service programmes, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to agreed customer expectations
- Own full commercial and financial performance, including revenue, margin, forecasting, budgeting and cost control
- Ensure all contracts and programmes comply with UK MoD SSRO regulations, working closely with finance and legal teams
- Develop a deep understanding of contractual obligations to optimise performance and profitability
- Establish and manage KPIs covering financial performance, delivery, quality and customer satisfaction
- Plan and coordinate service activities such as installations, inspections, depot repairs, upgrades, engineering changes and obsolescence management
- Act as the primary customer contact, leading contract reviews and managing escalations
- Manage subcontractors and service partners, including contractual flow-down
About You
- You are a commercially astute service or contracts leader with experience operating in regulated defence environments.
- Proven experience managing high-value, long-term service contracts and programmes
- Strong background in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) or service-based delivery
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience working with SSRO-regulated contracts
- Excellent financial and commercial acumen, including cost management and forecasting
- Experience working closely with finance and legal teams on pricing, reporting and compliance
- Programme and project management capability (qualification desirable)
- Experience drafting business proposals and contract amendments
- Working knowledge of contract law, negotiation and change management
