At IVC Evidensia, we're on a mission to transform veterinary care with technology. As one of the largest veterinary care providers in Europe and Canada, we're building seamless digital experiences that connect pet owners and clinics - ensuring the right care, at the right time.
We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our growing engineering team and help shape the future of pet care. If you're passionate about frontend performance, accessibility, and clean, modern web development - we'd love to hear from you.
Who We Are
IVC Evidensia is undergoing an exciting digital transformation. We're building modern, scalable systems that empower veterinary professionals to deliver outstanding care - and that starts with getting our digital foundations right.
Whether you're in a clinic, an office, or working remotely, every role at IVC contributes to better outcomes for pets, vets, and pet owners alike. As part of our central technology team, you'll help shape the tools and platforms that support more than 2,500 veterinary practices across 20 countries.
The Role
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll join one of our cross-functional product teams, working alongside product managers, designers, and engineers to build and scale intuitive, high-quality web applications.
You will:
Design and develop modern web interfaces using React.js , Next.js , and TypeScript
Build scalable, maintainable components within a shared design system
Focus on accessibility, performance, and usability across devices and user groups
Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs (REST & GraphQL)
Champion best practices including automated testing, CI/CD, and code reviews
Contribute to architectural decisions and advocate for frontend excellence
Support and mentor junior team members as needed
Deploy and monitor applications in an AWS-based, cloud-native environment
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who cares about delivering quality user experiences and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You should bring:
Strong experience developing modern UIs with React.js , Next.js , and TypeScript
Deep understanding of core frontend principles - including responsive design, accessibility, and performance optimisation
Experience working in a cloud environment, ideally AWS
Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and scalable architecture
Experience with frontend tooling such as Webpack, Vite, or similar bundlers
Comfortable working with REST/GraphQL APIs and agile delivery workflows
A passion for collaboration, clean code, and continuous improvement
Bonus if you also have:
Experience with hybrid rendering models (SSR, SSG, ISR)
Exposure to monitoring/observability tools for frontend apps
Familiarity with backend or full-stack development (though not essential)
At IVC Evidensia, we believe better engineering leads to better animal care. We're building inclusive teams and sustainable working practices that help people thrive.
Remote-first working, with flexible hybrid options (UK-based)
Dog-friendly office when you visit the Chocolate Factory
6.6 weeks' annual leave, including bank holidays
Birthday leave - take the day off to celebrate
Enhanced family-friendly policies and discretionary bonus
Discounted veterinary care for your own pets
Private healthcare for you (single cover)
Access to mental health support and wellbeing programmes
Company pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer contributions)
Cycle to Work and Green Car schemes
Ongoing training and development, including conference and event attendance
