Our client is in the Public Sector and they are looking to grow the team with a SQL Developer. This role can be done mostly remote with odd travel to the head office in Manchester.

Description

  • Develop, test, and deploy software applications tailored to organisational needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse technical requirements.
  • Ensure the maintenance and optimisation of existing software systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot application issues as needed.
  • Document software development processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of new application solutions.
  • Implement security best practices within all software developments.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies relevant to the public sector.

Profile

Must haves:

  • SQL Server 2016 - database administration, performance troubleshooting, backup/restore strategies, security management, and SQL Agent job configuration
  • Strong experience and skills in both System Admin and Database Administration using SQL Server is particularly important
  • Solid T-SQL skills - writing and debugging stored procedures, scripts, and maintenance routines
  • SQL Scripting
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Stakeholder experience - technical and non technical

Nice to haves:

  • Java/JBoss/J2EE
  • IBM Cognos
