Sport Lecturer

Meridian Business Support are working on behalf of a College in South Cheshire. They require an experienced, highly professional Lecturer of Sport to deliver courses to their students.Lecturer of SportFull time - 37 hours a week Monday to FridaySouth Cheshire £37,182 per annum (temporary to permanent)The Role of Sports Lecturer:

• This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sports team which involves the marketing, delivery and assessment of a range of courses across the Sports curriculum from Level 1 to 3 in Sport (Coaching and science) HNC/HND in Sport and Exercise Science.

• You will also have some course leadership and internal verification responsibilities, as well as liaising with local/regional clubs as part of our partnering college, professional sports offering.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Suitable applicants must possess a relevant Degree or equivalent qualification to at least Level 6
• Teaching Qualification to the required national standards
• A Level 2 qualification in English, Mathematics and ITQ or a willingness to work towards the qualifications in a timely manner are essential requirements for this role
• Previous experience in a Sports Lecturer or similar role, ideally within an Further Education environment.

Main Duties for this role include:

• To plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes using the appropriate college format to ensure effective learning.
• To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard to achieve high success rates.

• To assess accurately learners work both formatively and summatively against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
