Role Overview

The Sponsored Reserve Firefighter is a unique role that combines civilian firefighting with military purpose. You will support Defence operations within the UK and overseas, working alongside RAF teams and specialist equipment. The role offers a structured pattern of 4 months overseas followed by 16 months in the UK, providing variety, purpose, and the opportunity to build a long term career.

Responsibilities

• Respond to real incidents in high pressure environments.
• Work with specialist equipment and RAF teams.
• Support Defence operations in the UK and overseas.
• Collaborate within a close knit, professional team.

Requirements

• UK, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, or dual national citizenship.
• Residency in the UK for at least five years (three years may be considered in some cases).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Meet fitness standards including selection and pre joining tests.
• Meet medical and health standards (eyesight, general fitness).
• Complete situational and behavioural assessments and background checks.
• Commitment and potential to succeed in a demanding but rewarding role.

• Starting salary of £30,954, rising to £34,823 once fully trained.
