The Medicine Division is seeking to appoint a Band 7 Specialty Manager to work within Cluster 1 of the Division. This Cluster supports the following specialties:
This position offers a varied and interesting workload with opportunities to improve and transform all areas of each service as well as participation in the Emergency Zone flow management rota and involvement in both Division and Trust wide projects.
The successful candidates will already be working in operational management and have a proven track record of success.
The key to success in these roles will be working closely with clinical staff and other managers to ensure strong leadership and operational management, to meet each services' objectives and performance targets.

Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be a key member of, and work closely with, the Divisional Management Team, and will contribute fully to the overall management and development of the Medicine Division at North Bristol NHS Trust.
The role will be accountable for leading and managing identified specialties/services within the Division, ensuring achievement of relevant performance targets and strategic objectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services.
The post holder will need to build and maintain effective relationships with staff across NBT and external partners / stakeholders to ensure continued provision of safe, effective and timely services.
The post holder will be expected to provide leadership for workforce, finance, performance and will undertake various projects as required within the Division. There will also be a requirement to contribute to annual business cycles such as capacity and demand modelling, business planning and job planning.

Person specification Skills- Ability to use an evidence base to support decision making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Minimum 2 years NHS experience
- Experience of working within an operational role
- Experience of managing budgets
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience within urgent and emergency care or Mental health
- Experience of working within secondary care
