We are seeking an experienced full time Specialty Doctor who will work at Cygnet Churchill and provide psychiatric care on Palm Court, our 17 bed male mental health acute service.
You will be fully involved as a practising psychiatrist while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first class multidisciplinary team.
Palm Court provides a safe and stabilising environment for men experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and requiring emergency admission. The focus is on stabilisation, supporting patients to manage their mental health, reinforcing daily living skills and preparing for independent life in the community.
Main duties and Responsibilities- Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
- Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users
- Participate in weekly ward rounds and attend multidisciplinary meetings
- Attend Care Programme Approach, Section 117 meetings and mental health review tribunals
- Provide up to date clinical information at all meetings
- Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
- Audit medical services and ensure compliance with GMC and other professional guidelines
- Uphold policies and procedures and contribute to service governance and development
- Participate in the on call rota in line with regional needs

- Preferably approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act & a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
