Specialty Deputy Head of School for Intensive Care Medicine NHS England

Overview

An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Deputy Head of School in Intensive Care Medicine working across the South West.

Contract and Working Arrangements

• Secondment arrangement from host institution to NHS England - 1 PA per week (4 hours), worked flexibly.
• Contract until 31 March 2027 in first instance.
• All work undertaken incorporated into Consultant Job Plan.
• Colleagues with contractual office base expected to spend at least 40% of time working in person.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Head of School and support the Postgraduate Dean in leading delivery of a wide range of functions aligned to the NHS England mandate.
• Focus on improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes now and in future.
• Collaborate with the multi professional team to contribute to educational strategy and quality.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experienced clinician with thorough understanding of education and training across the region.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi professional team.
