About us The LSS is made up of 4 teams who work to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in schools and settings across Salford.
Each of these teams is made up of dedicated teachers and teaching assistants who have both experience and additional qualifications in their area of expertise, and we work closely with a range of other professionals to ensure the best possible service for the children and schools of Salford.
About the RoleBased at Unity House, our teachers work delivering training, providing support to SENCOs and visiting children and young people with identified SEND in schools and settings across Salford to support them, their teachers and TAs to ensure that they receive a high quality education.
As a teacher with extensive knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with SEND you will be working to support schools after statutory decisions made by the LA not to undertake formal EHC needs assessments.
Responsibilities- Deliver training, providing support to SENCOs and visiting children and young people with identified SEND in schools and settings across Salford to support them, their teachers and TAs to ensure that they receive a high quality education.
- Support schools after statutory decisions made by the LA not to undertake formal EHC needs assessments.
- A qualified and experienced teacher, an outstanding practitioner with knowledge of legislation in relation to SEN, and experience working with children and/or young people with additional needs.
- Comfortable working with a fluctuating caseload across the city, offering assessment and advice across a range of ages and schools.
- Experience of working with multi agency partners and confident to offer INSET and facilitate meetings.
- Desire to join a team of highly motivated and experienced professionals dedicated to providing excellent support to children, young people and schools.
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.
- The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months' salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month.
If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.
