Specialist SpLD Teacher/Assessor

We are looking to recruit a qualified Specialist SpLD Teacher/Assessor to join our college on a part time basis (0.8 FTE), commencing in August.

Salary range: £33,465 - £51,714 per annum - Actual Salary: £26,772 - £41,371 per annum.

Hours: 0.8 FTE.

Contract: Permanent.

Start Date: 25th August 2026.

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester, rated by Ofsted as 'outstanding' in every area. The Study Support Department is a dedicated team that supports students with a wide range of specific learning difficulties. This role offers a rare opportunity for a qualified teacher to join the team as a Specialist SpLD Teacher/Assessor.

To apply you must have a teaching qualification, including an SpLD teaching qualification (Level 5) and hold either a current Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Assessment Practising Certificate or a post graduate qualification (Level 7) in individual assessment. Experience teaching students with SpLDs in the post 16 sector and assessing under JCQ regulations is highly desirable.
