Job Description
QC Microbiology Specialist

BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking a full time QC Microbiology Specialist to support Drug Substance and Drug Product site activities related to Environmental Monitoring, Utility sampling, Biological Indicator testing, Media Fill, UV and HPLC in process testing, and sample processing. This 24/7 shift role reports to the QC Microbiology Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cleanroom, BSC and Isolator batch related monitoring.
  • Utility sampling of water systems and compressed air/gas.
  • Carry out in process testing of critical lot related samples (HPLC and UV Spectrophotometry).
  • Issuance, receipt, and testing of biological indicators.
  • Read and report environmental monitoring, BI and aseptic qualification sample results.
  • Reconcile and inspect media fill units and participate in media fills (APS).
  • Identify microorganisms isolated after testing activities.
  • Complete all laboratory documentation accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and registered specifications.
  • Assist in authoring and reviewing documentation.
  • Support other departments to maintain qualification and production schedules.
  • Review paperwork and reconcile analysis performed in the laboratory.
  • Investigate alert/action limit excursions according to site procedures.
  • Receive and process drug substance and drug product samples.
  • Adhere to and improve lean lab and 6S practices.
  • Maintain high standard housekeeping and safety.
  • Perform any other activities as indicated by the Microbiology Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Level 8 degree in Microbiology or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare laboratory.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom with aseptic techniques; isolator experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with HPLC and UV Spectrophotometry desirable.
  • Experience using LIMS (MODA, Empower, CIMS, LES, Veeva Vault) desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
