Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated podiatrist to join our friendly team. The clinician will handle triage, assessment, and diagnosis of patients with podiatric issues, developing and evaluating care plans. Opportunities for developing skills in wound care, debridement, offloading, and arterial assessment are available.

Newly qualified podiatrists are welcome to apply for a developmental role (annex 21). A departmental visit prior to interview is encouraged.

Main duties

Based across Ulverston and South Lakes, with potential outreach into Furness, you will provide care to high-risk caseloads. Excellent communication skills and confidence to work independently are essential.

We prioritize quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care and support staff development through clinical supervision and training.

Person specification Education & Qualifications
  • Degree in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent
  • Local anesthesia certificate
  • HCPC registration
  • Certificate in Radiology
Experience
  • Post-graduate NHS experience, including high-risk patient care
  • Teaching and training experience
  • Assessment and diagnosis of complex foot pathologies
  • Evidence-based treatment planning
  • Effective communication and teamwork
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Knowledge of high-risk patient care, wound management, Doppler ultrasound, and relevant clinical guidelines
  • Understanding of medical conditions, interventions, and pharmacology
Personal Qualities
  • Ability to travel
  • Flexibility, commitment, and good interpersonal skills
  • Approachable and enthusiastic attitude
