This is a full time, permanent position.
Post - Location: NHS GGC Endoscopy Decontamination Sites
Salary: Band 6 / (Annex 21) on satisfactory completion of Decontamination Periodic Testing Certification and Authorised Person training
Shift: (Mon to Thurs 7AM to 3PM, Fri 7AM to 2:30PM with on-call approximately one week in every eight)
Minimum requirements for the post are a recognised Mechanical/Electrical Apprenticeship, HNC or ONC, City & Guilds, SVQ/NVQ s with relevant experience.
The Post Holder will act as a fully trained and certificated Specialist Medical Equipment Engineer, to provide Mechanical/Electrical/Disinfection/Sterilization Services to meet the needs of the Service.
To Install, Repair and Maintain Decontamination / Building Services Equipment within NHS GGC Decontamination Department in order that the equipment can carry out its intended purpose safely, and to ensure the smooth operation of the Decontamination Systems within the Organisation. Participation in an on-call rota and the ability to travel between NHS sites are required.
The posts are offered as (Annex 21 Training Posts) but after satisfactory completion of Decontamination Periodic Testing Certification and Authorised Person training the posts will transition to Band 6 Specialist Medical Equipment Engineer positions. Potential direct entry to Band 6 for successful candidate(s) matching the Band 6 criteria.
