Specialist Intelligence Analyst

Join our data analytics team and contribute to delivering world-class health care analytics.
Responsibilities- Support in the creation and interpretation of analytics and report generation.
- Design and roll out interactive dashboards and aid the DAA Development team.
- Provide data intelligence and advice to divisional and clinical leadership.
- Collaborate with divisions in performance planning and reporting.
- Produce monthly performance reports, identify anomalies and support decision making.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of reporting mechanisms to improve management decision making.
- Act as a mentor to junior staff and promote the Trust's DAA strategy.
- Maintain data quality, validate intelligence and participate in investigations and audits.
- Provide training and support to end users in BI reporting.
- Recognise national NHS developments and ensure reporting meets statutory requirements.
- Educated to degree/HND level or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of professional and/or personal development.
- UK level 1 or above (UK CHIP).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Experience analysing data and working within a Business Intelligence department.
- Experience developing efficient information outputs and validating large or complex intelligence.
- Experience of identifying, managing, and communicating data quality issues.
- Experience using statistics/forecasting and SQL to manipulate and extract data.
- Experience with web-based Business Intelligence reporting software such as Qlik.
- Experience supporting clinicians and management with information interpretation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate non-technical requirements into technical solutions.
- Prioritise workload to tight deadlines and concentrate for extended periods.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
- Advanced mathematics and statistics knowledge.
- SQL and Qlik development competence.
- Understanding of hospital systems and operational roles.
- Knowledge of NHS national datasets, statutory returns, and reporting requirements.
- Information governance principles.
- Knowledge of NHS benchmarking solutions and emerging BI technologies.
- Statistical methods and when to apply them.
