Specialist Clinical Fellow - Urology

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Urology Registrar / Specialist Clinical Fellow (ST3-ST5 equivalent) to join our dynamic Urology team at Wexham Park Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This role is ideal for doctors who have completed core surgical training and are looking to gain further experience in a busy and well-supported urology department.
The post offers excellent exposure to both elective and emergency urology, including opportunities to assist and perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will work closely with a team of consultants, junior doctors, specialist nurses, and multi-disciplinary colleagues, contributing to high standards of patient care and service delivery.
Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient and outpatient care under the supervision of Consultant Urologists.
Participate in elective theatre lists, diagnostic procedures (e.g. flexible cystoscopy), and emergency urology on-call rota.
Contribute to ward rounds, MDT meetings, and outpatient clinics.
Support junior colleagues in their training and clinical development.
Participate in audit, teaching, clinical governance, and service improvement initiatives.
Engage in personal development activities and training to progress towards higher specialty training or CESR pathways, if appropriate.

Person Specification Qualifications- MB, BS or equivalent
- MRCS
- GMC registered
- ATLS or equivalent
- 4 years post qualification experience of which 2 years must be in a urology/general surgery post at ST1/2 level or equivalent
- Demonstrates experience of teaching and training ST1/2 or equivalent and F1s
- Competent in basic procedures e.g. CPR, infection control, physical examination, history taking, etc.
- Experience working at middle grade level in urology
- NHS experience
- Has participated in clinical audit
- Able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English e.g. able to write legible records
- Able to discuss treatment options with patients in a way they can understand
- Able to establish good working relations with patients, carers and multi-disciplinary colleagues
- Able to contribute to teaching and learning of others in the clinical setting
- Demonstrates a critical and enquiring approach to knowledge acquisition
- Evidence of leadership qualities (not necessarily in medicine)
