Job OverviewThe post holder will contribute to patient care by providing high standards of cleanliness to Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials (HPS), a sterile and non sterile medicine manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include specialised cleaning of cGMP manufacturing areas, warehouse, office and communal areas.
Main duties- Undertake the cleaning of HPS areas in compliance with local procedures and the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
- Work daily in a cleanroom environment, performing garment change into specialised full body cleanroom garments.
- Clean floors, walls, ceilings, glass windows and other surfaces; sweep, mop, vacuum, damp dust, polish as required.
- Perform general cleaning in warehousing, office areas, toilets, non classified production areas, plant rooms, external building areas and laboratory testing areas.
- Transport waste from serviced areas to waste carts and waste compounds; move bags up to 25 kg, push full cages and carts to disposal areas.
- Assist with training and demonstration of duties to new and existing HPS employees.
- Assist in completing corrective and preventative actions arising from quality investigations related to cleaning activities within agreed time frames.
- Participate in the Trust Appraisal Programme.
- Maintain good working relationships with line managers and staff within the cleaned areas.
- Follow Trust policies and HPS SOPs, liaise with Section Heads, prioritise workload, report damage, faulty equipment, health and safety issues, quality deviations, comply with Health and Safety and COSHH regulations and assist with maintenance of specialist cleaning equipment.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and records for specialised materials; order required materials and equipment.
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, including English language and mathematics.
- NVQ in Cleaning and Maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience of cleaning within sterile or pharmaceutical environments.
- Ability to work within set timeframes and procedures.
- Completed in house training covering Good Manufacturing Practice, specialised cleaning of manufacturing areas, COSHH, health and safety, lifting and handling.
- Basic computer skills and ability to understand written procedures.
- Attention to detail and meticulousness.
- Flexibility in working hours, ability to work as part of a team, good communication with colleagues.
- Flexible working arrangements, including part time, job share and remote working where appropriate.
- Eligibility for DBS check covered by the Trust.
- Participation in Trust appraisal and career development programmes.
