Are you a passionate Pharmacist looking to gain specialist experience in Haematology and Oncology? If so, University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Trust (UHBW) has an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team, working at the forefront of cancer pharmacy in the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC).
As a Specialist Cancer Pharmacist, you will collaborate with experienced Senior Pharmacists across various adult and teenage and young adult (TYA) specialty areas on rotation. This includes providing clinical pharmacy services to oncology, haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) patients, including those treated with Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell therapies (CAR-T). You will also provide aseptic services to patients throughout the Trust.
If you have a minimum of 6 months hospital experience and are working towards a post graduate certificate with a keen interest in cancer services, recruitment to a Band 6 to 7 progression post will be considered.
Main duties of the job As you rotate through specialist areas, you will gain experience of both clinical and aseptic aspects of cancer services.

- Undertaking the role of an authorised pharmacist in the aseptic unit on a sessional basis providing chemotherapy to adult and paediatric patients and parenteral nutrition (PN) to paediatrics and neonates.
- Involvement with service developments, collaborating with senior pharmacists as well as engaging with other healthcare professionals including medical and nursing staff.
- Assisting with audit, teaching, and supervision activities as appropriate.

- Experience of working in hospital pharmacy at Band 6 level or equivalent
- Post-registration experience in Cancer Pharmacy or Pharmacy Technical Services, particularly chemotherapy; or clinical pharmacy experience across a range of specialised areas (Band 7)
