Location: Oldham Contract: Temporary (with potential for permanent placement) We are currently recruiting a Specialist Autism Teacher to join a welcoming SEN provision in Oldham, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and related communication needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist environment where structured routines, tailored teaching strategies, and a nurturing approach help pupils develop confidence, independence, and meaningful progress in their learning.
As a Specialist Autism Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver highly personalised and differentiated lessons designed to meet the needs of pupils with ASC
- Support pupils with communication, sensory processing, and social interaction needs
- Implement specialist teaching strategies to maintain engagement and promote learning
- Encourage the development of independence, communication skills, and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and SEN specialists
- Maintain strong relationships with parents and carers to support pupil development
- Create a structured, predictable, and supportive classroom environment Your role will focus on helping pupils feel safe, understood, and motivated to succeed in their learning.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience working with pupils with Autism or additional learning needs
- Demonstrates strong differentiation and personalised teaching strategies
- Is patient, adaptable, and resilient
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with SEN
- Main Pay Scale (MPS) paid from day one
- Additional SEN allowance for specialist teaching
