Specialist Access to Education and Section 19 Co ordinator

About the Role:

Wirral Council is looking to recruit a Specialist Access to Education and Section 19Co ordinator to support the delivery of its statutory duties ensuring children and young people receive suitable education when they are unable to attend mainstream provision. You will play a key role in supporting the Local Authority to meet its statutory Section 19 duty, working collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies to ensure that children and young people can access suitable education.

You will work with schools, families and partner agencies to coordinate appropriate educational provision, maintain tracking systems, analyse data, and ensure compliance with statutory timescales. The role involves providing advice, organising meetings, producing reports, and supporting service development and improvement. The role involves coordinating and maintaining robust tracking systems, ensuring statutory timescales are met, and providing advice and guidance on access to education processes. You will analyse data, produce reports, support decision making panels, and ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with legislative requirements.

About the Candidate:

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will play a key role in organising meetings, maintaining robust tracking systems, supporting governance and financial processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
