Job Description

Special Education Needs (SEN) Inclusive Play Project Coordinator

Based at: PlayBoard NI Headquarters, Belfast

Responsible to: Director, Service Delivery and Development

Main purpose: The SEN Inclusive Play Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination, management and delivery of a schools focused Inclusive Play Programme, supported by the Department of Education as part of the SEN Reform Agenda.

Liaising directly with identified schools and project partners, the post holder will ensure high-quality, consistent and impactful practice that improves wellbeing outcomes for children and young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The Coordinator will directly line manage a team of Inclusive Play Development Officers working across Northern Ireland and act as the key point of contact with schools, funders and partner organisations.

Contract: This is a fixed term contract until the 30th of June 2028, subject to funding.

Salary: Salary Pts: 26-28 (£32,909 - £34,723)

Location: 7 Crescent Gardens, Belfast

The post holder will be required to travel throughout Northern Ireland.

Travel Costs: Travel mileage costs will be paid for any travel incurred carrying out the duties of the post.

Hybrid Working: PlayBoard has a hybrid working policy which will provide staff with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis for those posts where it is appropriate to do so and as agreed.

Hours of work: The successful candidate will be required to work 5 days each week, totalling 35 hours.

Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm
Friday 9am - 4pm

However, the post holder may be required to work additional hours (outside normal office hours) from time to time and remain flexible and mobile as is reasonably necessary for the efficient performance of the duties.
