Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Spanish language lessons.
  • Teach speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills across beginner to advanced levels.
  • Design and assess coursework, examinations, and other learning activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support students' academic development through tutorials and office hours.
  • Integrate innovative teaching methods and educational technologies into the classroom.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance activities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and institutional events.
  • Promote Spanish language and Hispanic cultures through extracurricular activities where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Applied Linguistics, Language Education, or a closely related field.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Experience teaching Spanish in higher education or an equivalent educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary language teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification or certification in language education.
  • Experience using virtual learning environments and digital teaching tools.
  • Experience developing curriculum and assessment materials.
  • Research interests or publications relevant to Spanish language or Hispanic studies.
  • Experience supervising student projects or dissertations.
