Harper Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a prestigious, high end hospitality venue renowned for delivering exceptional guest experiences. They are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their elite culinary team. This position sits within a refined, luxury environment where standards are uncompromising, ingredients are premium, and every dish is crafted with precision and creativity.

The successful Sous Chef will thrive in a sophisticated setting, enjoy producing beautifully presented cuisine, and demonstrate a calm, polished leadership style. You will support senior chefs in delivering innovative menus, maintaining impeccable presentation, and ensuring every guest receives a memorable, high quality dining experience.

What will the role involve?
  • Kitchen leadership - Supporting the day to day running of a high end, fast paced kitchen
  • Operational cover - Taking full responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Head Chef
  • Premium food preparation - Preparing and serving refined, high end quality cuisine to exacting standards
  • Menu innovation - Contributing to menu development with creative, forward thinking ideas
  • Luxury presentation - Ensuring exceptional presentation and delivering a luxury guest experience
  • Dietary expertise - Maintaining expert knowledge of ingredients, allergens and dietary requirements
  • Bespoke menu creation - Creating tailored menu options for guests with specific dietary needs
  • Team development - Leading, motivating and developing a skilled team of chefs and kitchen assistants
  • Training support - Supporting structured training, coaching and professional development
  • Trial shift oversight - Overseeing trial shifts and assisting with performance assessments
  • Stock management - Managing stock ordering, rotation and quality control with minimal waste
  • Food safety - Ensuring outstanding food hygiene, health & safety and cleanliness standards
  • Kitchen administration - Completing daily check sheets, cleaning schedules and training documentation
  • Issue reporting - Reporting equipment issues, hazards, accidents and stock shortages promptly
  • Guest feedback - Responding professionally to guest feedback and supporting effective resolution
  • Cross department communication - Maintaining strong communication across departments to ensure seamless service
Who are we looking for?
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in professional cookery is desirable
  • Experience within a luxury, high volume or premium hospitality kitchen
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene, allergens and dietary requirements
  • Passion for fresh, nutritious and beautifully presented cuisine
  • Ability to remain composed and efficient in a refined, fast paced environment
  • Confident leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Positive, proactive and committed approach to excellence
  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards
