A stunning B&I location in Shepherd's Bush for a new co-working community for innovative businesses, catering for approximately 400 people daily. We offer breakfast, lunch, high-end hospitality, and pop-ups. The role is a Monday to Friday operation.
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a creative and effective Sous Chef to join the team at one of our fabulous locations in London.
Key responsibilities:- Prepare all food service areas for the day's business relating to that meal service.
- Ensure prompt service of all meals to company and client standards.
- Ensure preparation and presentation methods meet company expectations.
- Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean, and store food, beverages, or equipment required for daily service.
- Prepare all food for sale/service following hygiene and safety standards.
- Restock and replenish stocks and consumables during service, anticipating customer needs.
- Inform Front of House of food shortages and prevent delays.
- Perform cleaning and hygiene duties as required.
- Serve customers, visitors, and guests according to service standards.
- Manage rubbish and recycling appropriately.
- Assist in ordering and stock management.
- Ensure kitchen compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas after each shift.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Notify the head chef of stock movements for upcoming menus.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Wear neat and clean uniform at all times.
- Maintain high personal presentation standards.
- Conduct food temperature checks and other safety checks.
- Fulfill reasonable requests from management.
- Provide cover for colleagues when needed.
- Report hazards and safety concerns promptly.
- Teamwork, listening skills, initiative, excellent personal hygiene, food hygiene certification preferred.
- Adaptability, reliability, honesty, attentive customer service.
- Willingness to learn and take responsibility.
- Ability to perform moderate heavy lifting.
- Good verbal and written English skills.
- Experience in customer service or food preparation preferred.
