Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Solution Designer to join our dynamic team in shaping the future of accounting. This role is crucial in defining and mapping how various platforms link together to drive a seamless experience and deliver efficient client outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background , business process experience , excellent communication, cross-team collaboration, and proactive problem-solving skills. Engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders across product teams will be critical for successful client outcomes. Solution Designers play a mission-critical role, using empathic methods to design and deliver products and services that delight our users. They combine user knowledge with analysis and artistry, transforming complex business scenarios into useful, elegant solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop integration solutions to connect various systems and applications both within the organisation and to external client systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Create detailed integration design documents (UML standards).
  • Ensure seamless data flow and communication between different systems.
  • Develop and document integration standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with fellow solution designers, architects and development teams to implement integration solutions.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of integration solutions.
  • Transform uncertainty, and somtimes conflicting information, into process flow combining input from across the product team.
  • Provide the interconnect between PM, XD and Engineering through technical expertise and legislative insight.
  • Discover business rules and constraints.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a technical solution design role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Designer or similar role.
  • Strong technical acumen with a solid understanding of SaaS, APIs, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and financial/accounting technologies.
  • Experience with APIs, web services, middleware, and API tools and technologies such as GitHub, microservices, Postman, OpenAPI, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across product and engineering teams to drive a seamless customer experience .
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements and internal workshops.
  • Iterative, customer-centric exploration of problems and solutions.
  • Understanding of business goals and strategy, competitor analysis, business rules, legislation, and constraints.
  • Application of design thinking to determine the best solution.
  • Requirements definition and elicitation techniques, resolving conflicting requirements, validating requirements across multiple stakeholders while considering impact on the customer and product.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas, requirements, and solutions clearly, articulately, and effectively using the most appropriate tools and methods.
  • Validation of the solution and ability to persevere or pivot approach.
  • Support others in interpreting and implementing solutions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with enterprise software, particularly in the fintech, accounting, or financial services sectors.

Work Environment

The position is initially for 6 months with a possibility of extension. The role is preferably based in the UK or Europe. The work involves utilising advanced technologies such as AWS, Azure, GitHub, REST, and integration solutions, with a focus on SaaS environments.
