A leading UK organisation is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major ERP transformation programme on an initial 6 month contract.

You'll play a pivotal role in the implementation of a new ERP platform, ensuring the solution integrates effectively with the wider technology landscape and supports long-term business objectives. Working closely with senior stakeholders, vendors, and delivery partners, you'll provide architectural leadership across the full programme lifecycle.

This is a fantastic opportunity to influence the design and delivery of a large-scale business transformation programme while operating as the technical authority for solution architecture and integration design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the end to end solution architecture for a major ERP implementation.
  • Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and technology strategy.
  • Design and oversee integrations between the ERP platform and wider business systems.
  • Review and challenge designs produced by implementation partners and third-party vendors.
  • Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and technical constraints, driving appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and architecture governance activities.
  • Provide architectural guidance across design, build, testing, deployment, and transition phases.
  • Support data migration, cutover planning, operational readiness, and service transition activities.
  • Produce and maintain architecture documentation, decision logs, and solution roadmaps.
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience working as a Solution Architect on ERP implementation or transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, system integrations, APIs, middleware, and data flows.
  • Experience governing and assuring solutions delivered by ERP vendors, systems integrators, or third-party partners.
  • Strong architecture governance and Design Authority experience.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, supportable technical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience delivering ERP programmes involving platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, COINS, IFS, or similar.
  • Experience designing enterprise data platforms, Lakehouse architectures, Data Warehouses, or reporting solutions.
  • Exposure to ERP data migration, testing, deployment, and integration workstreams.
  • Experience leveraging automation, AI, or intelligent workflow technologies to improve business processes.
Nice to Have
  • Experience within infrastructure sectors.
  • Knowledge of Finance, Procurement, Commercial, Operations, Land, or Construction business processes.
  • Previous experience of COINS ERP implementations.
