Solution Architect - Clinical Data Warehouse(located in United Kingdom, Remote)
Your responsibilities- Lead the technical design and architecture of a clinical data warehouse to replace legacy systems.
- Act as the technical project lead, guiding a team of front- and back-end developers and ensuring alignment across all development activities.
- Define the overall system architecture, technology stack, and integration approach for internal and external data sources (e.g., EDC, CTMS, safety).
- Collaborate with leadership, internal users (e.g., data managers, biostatisticians), and external stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Provide technical oversight for development, data modeling, APIs, and performance optimization.
- Establish development best practices, coding standards, and quality frameworks across the project.
- Anticipate risks and dependencies; act as escalation point for technical challenges.
- Drive adoption of modern architecture patterns (e.g., modular, cloud-based, containerized) to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and long-term sustainability of the platform.
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent technical background.
- 8+ years of experience in software architecture and technical leadership, ideally with experience in clinical research systems.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing clinical data warehouses or similar large-scale data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of data management and analytics in a clinical research setting (EDC, SDTM/ADaM, CDISC standards is a plus).
- Solid understanding of cloud architectures, APIs, databases (SQL/Postgres), and data pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills to act as an interface between technical teams, leadership, and end users.
- Experience in regulated environments (pharma/CRO/healthcare) highly desirable.
